Having played online for years now, I totally discount the proposition that your winnings are determined by some sort of "random number generator". There are clear patterns which emerge, so I've coined the term "situational randomness". For example:

1. Ever notice how incredibly lucky you can be when playing with the house money (aka "free bonuses") until your winnings are roughly equal to your playthrough amount, after which you go on an incredible losing streak. At the end, if you are truly lucky, you have enough left to pay off the original bonus and withdraw about what you deposited. Random bad luck?

2. Ever win a big, big jackpot? Same thing..all of a sudden luck turns bad as you try to recoup the playthrough, and there go those stars in your eyes about the multi-thousand dollar payoff.

My own theory is that, if there is a random number generator at use at all here, there is a different universe of "random" numbers depending upon whose money you are playing with (yours or the casino "bonus"), where you stand with playthrough, and perhaps the size of your deposits. "Situational randomness".

Can anyone convince me I'm wrong?

No way of convincing you that you are wrong because, in all likelihood, you are very right. There's a hook to get you going, but at some point, the winning has to end because the casinos are in business to make money, not to pay it out. Statistics dictate the odds are against the player and are in favor of the casinos, online or off.

The thing is, the games can be a lot of fun when you're winning, and excrutiating when you're trying to recover. It's just a matter of deciding for yourself if your willing to endure the many times of angst for a time of so of joy (which are becoming extremely rare).

In my personal opinion.....

I think if you are Lucky, you are Lucky.
If you are going to win, you are going to win.

Being in the right place, playing the right game, at the right time.
Betting the right amount, at the right time, at the right place.

I've been on losing streaks...
And, on some HUGE winning streaks.
And, sometimes I just hit real big, at once.

When thinking straight... I cashed out at the right time.
Then not thinking so straight, which a typical Gambler can relate to -
Winning Huge and just having those 'typical' gambler thoughts of hitting
even Larger - and, NOT..... boom... before you know it, it's gone.
And, then think - "Damn... I didn't win"

I have been playing online for quite a while, now.
I really don't see a pattern.
Sometimes it happens... sometimes it does not.

Yes..."Situational Randomness" is a great description of what I think is really going on.
In addition to those dependent variables you've mentioned, I honesty do believe that your entire game history, since the creation of your account, affects the outcomes. just my 2 cents Rolling Eyes

I'm with Voodookitty on this one, I just believe its your day or not.
As a gambler, we've all had them, just a reminder it is supposed to be fun....
It does suck when its your money you lose, that is the chance we take.
