I keep having problems installing RIVAL software on my laptop. Anybody else experiencing this and could offer some help please?

This is the text i have in the installation box:

Installation failed. Contact support and give them this error number 499430048

Other codes i had were 499730048 or 499230048

Would be very grateful if anyone could help.

Harry,

I haven't been able to download a Rival for months because of the same error message and have found no one that could help with this. I already had Sloto downloaded and that's the only one that will work.

So if you find an answer, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

Have you tried deleting your temp files and cookies? Probably, as neither of you sounds un-'puterized, but also, after uninstalling, clearing your temp files and cookies, click start, then "run". THIS IS TO CLEAR ANY MENTION OF THE FILES DOWNLOADED INTO THE COMPUTER'S REGISTRY AT THE INSTALLATION; DO NOT ATTEMPT IF NOT FAMILIAR AND COMFORTABLE WITH THIS PROCESS. In the text box, type, REGEDIT. At the menu, choose EDIT, then FIND. In the box, type the name of the site, i.e., "Tropica". When it finds the name, click, DELETE, then YES; press F3 to find additional references to the name, deleting every instance the name is found. Once you have done this with each site you've had issues with, restart your 'puter. The try to install again. If no luck, call the number!

Thanks Loni. Have already done all of that. I have tried calling the casino and contacting CS also. No response as to how to fix it. My computer is so clean it sqeaks and they still won't download. I even tried changing the DEN on computer but that didn't work either.

Funny thing is that I can download MGs, TopGame and other kinds of casino software but not Rivals or RTG's.

Not my firewall or virus either.

NLNLoni Thanks for the suggestions... tried that but still getting the same error message... i had the likes of Pantasia, Simon Says, Superior installed when the RIVAL software became big some 2 years ago, no problems.... i played now all N/D bonuses on those Rivals offering a flash version, but quite a few don't do that.... so I tried to install the software for Tropica, Dendera etc. all with the same result... LiveChat is a waste of time, they don't have a clue what the error code means.

anniemac the funny thing is that until a few months ago i did not have any problems installing Rival software..... all the others, Microgaming, Topgame, RTG are running fine... it is only the Rival ones giving me this kind of problems

TDTAT i played all the N/D on the RIVALs offering a flash version..... Dendera, Tropica and some others don't have a flash casino... I also asked already live chat for help, they say "we don't know what the issue is, must be on your side". As you know Live Chat is rarely helpful with this kind of matter.

This is what Live chat told me to do recently:-

Internet Options in Internet Explorer. You will find this under the Tools menu.
When the window opens click on the advanced tab, then click Restore Default
button. Once that is completed, click OK
Then do this: Go
to "Start" button, then click "run". and then enter "cleanmgr" and clear
(check): downloaded program files, temporary internet files and the temporary
files. Then press ok and say "yes" to performing these actions.

He then said if this didn't work uninstall then reinstall the casino, i've had no problem's saving the first part, under downloads & running/open folder on the second part (but I do have a newish laptop)!!!
Don't know if this is the same kind of thing, but thought it may be of some help??? Good Luck Good Luck Thumbup

Maybe you don't have the compatible video card to handle their graphics?

Try saving the file to your computer and then installing it, rather than installing it from their web site.

NLNLoni as i mentioned previously, up to a few months ago i had no problems installing RIVAL software, so it can't be that.

Raenette you can only save the initial .EXE file on the computer, the real download file is only downloaded once you start the .EXE file. So, that did not help either...

Ditto Harry. Been there, done all that. I had all of the Rivals on my computer at one time and now only have Sloto installed. If they have an instant casino then I'm in business. Same with RTG's except that if they will send me a disk, I can download the disk and play.

The only thing that has changed on my computer is that instead of using a phone line, I am now connected with a Verizon aircard.

anniemac i have all the same.... same laptop, same broadband provider, same microsoft windows version.... nothing has changed since I had some RIVALS installed.... other then the usual Microsoft updates....

really strange this phenomena..... but good to know that I'm not the only one... i was already doubting my skills to install something on my laptop.
