MLB Odds: LA Dodgers vs Boston Red Sox in World Series Game 1 And Game 2
It's a treat for fans this year with two of the most famouse baseball teams facing off in the 2018 World Series. The Boston Red Sox (108-54, plus-31.11 betting units during the regular season) have the benefit of home-field advantage in game 1 and game 2 against the Los Angeles Dodgers (92-71, minus-22.83 units). Get ready for the action tonight at 8:09 PM and again on Wednesday, October 24th at 8:09 PM ET on FOX. Boston goes into game 1 a –160 favorite to win the championship.
Both teams are playing coy by keeping their Wednesday starting pitchers a secret. We have heard that Chris Sale will start Tuesday’s opener for Boston; manager Alex Cora has said that David Price (3.58 ERA) will most likely start Game 2. The Dodgers have not assigned any pitchers for this series, and they have some tough decisions after Clayton Kershaw pitched in relief during Saturday’s Game 7 NLCS win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
We did not get to see these two teams match up in the regular season, but Price is very familiar with two Dodger batters in particular – and the numbers stink. Manny Machado (formerly playing for Baltimore) is 12-for-41 lifetime against Price with five home runs and a 1.024 OPS. Brian Dozier when playing for Minnesota was 9-for-39 with two home runs and a .743 OPS. Look forward to game 3 which will be played in LA on October 26th.
